What about the Egg Muffin things wrapped in that really thing foil, NOW that I loved, almost worth getting up at 5am. Sad that our only good memories of conventions are Danish, Ice Cream, Hoggies, and Egg Muffins.

I miss the "free" food.
by Justice-One infree food.
it used to make the conventions almost bearable.
i rememeber telling the wife and kids to not put anything in any contribution box, because as the head of the family, i had taken care of it.

I almost bought a flag......
by AK - Jeff inthe fog must be lifted now for me after two and a half years out of the borg.. today whilst browsing for some lawn decor, i was drawn to the american flag display in the store.
i looked it over good - all the flag pole styles, sizes, quality.
i walked away without buying one, only due to trying to keep wifey out of the hot seat, as she still has relatives in - i don't any longer.

I actually love French food, Coq au Vin, foie gras or any pate, and come on Chicken cordon bleu rocks, (forgive me if I misspelled I don't speak french)They gave us Edith Piaf, I love her music although don't understand a thing she says. I think their only shame is Jean Claude Van Dam, I hate his movies and I agree I don't like French salad dressing I prefer Blue cheese.

I think Xjw4evr and Dave_T should have a meeting with the elders. :-) xjw4evr, you know us Americans should be a little embarrassed, after all the JW's started here in America, we messed up the world. ha, ha, ha,

Did people make fun of you when you were a JW?
by JH indid people make fun of you when you were a jw, or were you on top of the situation, and knew what to say to shut them up and make them feel stupid or without faith?

when I was really young yes, National Anthem was a big cause for laughing at me, I had a teacher who would point out that I couldn't say it, but I would still stand for respect. Later 7-8th grade, I just decided that I would only act like a witness at home, I started doing christmas stuff, and saying the Anthem, what ever I wanted. Once a kid from the hall came up to me and said that he had to tell the elders and my parents on me for smoking and having a girlfriend, not only did I kick his ass but all my worldly friends jumped him. He never talked!

Anybody here been an airline flight attendant (or known someone who has)?
by Xander inwife has an interesting opportunity to do this, but...well, it's a risk.
she passed the interviews and was invited to the 4-week training.
thing is, they say that 75% of those who are accepted into training for it wash out.

ok she said out of 200 only 20 people were selected to go on to training, during training 3 they dropped out. 6 months after training there is a period of time that they make you do refresher test and you have to pass with an inspector, they test you on Equipment, each type of plane you fly in, for each of those planes you have to pass a test while in flight, the inspector looks at everything you do and asks you questions and tests you on safety, and where all the stuff is on the plane, after that she said every year you have to re-pass the tests, for each plane you fly in. She remembers that 5 of the new flight attendants were let go because they didn't pass the follow up test.
she said that she thinks American flight attendants have it easy, she had a full service international flights, and had to do a lot more than American flight attendants. I think she has too much pride ha ha ha

My wife was a flight attendant until 4 years ago, but not in this country, she went through a lot of training, even some military training. I wish she would get back into it. I know its kind of rough, she has some horror stories, I will show her your email and ask her to give you any advise.

WOW one year, good luck, well now its ok to wish someone good luck.
Enjoy your life, travel, go and try some things that you would not have been able to do before, just don't get caught up in anything bad, remember some of us are like springs, we were held down tight against the floor, now that you are released, don't spring out of control.
Congrats to all that have made the one year mark.

I remember the little stamp booklets that you buy and it was like you cut out a ticket for what you wanted, juice, danish etc. and yes I do have to agree the danish made it worth getting pinched hourly by my mom to stay awake and pay attention. Well we use to have to buy extra of those booklets and not use them as our way of donations. I remember other kids making like photo albums and had booklets from other years as a freaken collection.
